Join a group of people interested in finding out about the availability of advice and advocacy for people with mental health conditions and their carers.
We will be asking if there enough help out there and what can be done to make sure people get the help they need.
The advocacy services that the research will look at include a number of possible different types of work for example:
• Helping people make ‘the right decisions for them’
• Getting them the information they need to make those decisions
• Signposting to other services
• If appropriate speaking on their behalf to other agencies
• Offering moral support
We are interested in getting the views of commissioners, services and service users as well as people who are missed by services and those who apparently don’t fit the criteria for accessing current services.
Our next meeting is on 6th April 2017, 9.30-11.30am at Middlesbrough and Stockton Mind, 90-92 Lothian Road, Middlesbrough TS4 2QX
Minutes from last meeting: V4C advocacy meeting notes 23 March
Travel expenses available for service users and carers from Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland.
